IoT for a healthy world

The Need: IoT forecast for 2020 is of 50B devices to be connected to the web - IP and Non IP ones (Wi-Fi, BT mostly). Collecting data from these devices is an important task as it allows software and service systems to understand the environment better. The vision of IoT is to allow ‘things’ to be connected anytime, anyplace, with anything and anyone, ideally using any path, any network and any service – unfortunately cannot be done due to lack of sensors platform standards
The Solution: Mobile sensors management (IoT) Cross platform middleware SWFD is a mobile middleware platform for all Non IP and IP sensors connecting to the web. The mobile will serve sensors as Software Access Point to the web, managing quality services, Cyber security control, virtualization of communication Not only we will save expensive resources in term of computation, bandwidth usage & hardware cost - we will create partners ecosystem with free SDK and agility deployment
We connect mobiles (MESH over Wi-Fi Direct) physically and virtually,a robust cost-effective platform and we connect wearables to mobile:
- On mobile side - the SWFD app is doing "small data" – robust local command and control tool, for sensors, devices, applications
- On the cloud side - SWFD app is offering "big data" tools, storage, dash-boards and connectivity to third party clouds services.
The Market: M2M and IOT, by year 2020: some 50B connected devices, $8.9 trillion market value - (Cisco).
Some 1.4 billion units of Wi-Fi connectivity unites will be sold in 2014 - (ABI research).
Soon we will have many more mobile everywhere, and millions of new IoT applications - it is essential to let the mobile be our middleware. So far, IoT solution providers are not using the power of mobile to manage and control the sensors, there is no standard in the industry - only propriety ones - unlike customers desire.
Wi-Fi Direct is an emerging technology meant to meet the growing demand for easy, portable wireless network connectivity. It's peer-to-peer wireless network, which means that device "discover" one another and establish wireless network without the web and without worry about SSID's or password to access them.
Key words: WMN (Wireless Mesh Network), WSN (Wireless Sensors Network), WAHN (Wireless Ad Hock Network), Middelware, WFD (Wi-Fi Direct), IoT (Internet of Things), M2M (Machine to Machine), SWFD (Smart Wi-Fi Direct & BT), Platform
Features:
Seamless connectivity - This feature enables users to connect any supported device to the mesh and thus to the Internet without any installation, configuration, or pairing.
Channel bonding - Nowadays, users access the Internet using only one path but access the Internet over multiple paths at once, thus improving speed and reliability.
Automatic path choice - Once connected, devices find a path to the Internet also completely automatically. If a path fails, a new one will be chosen and, if necessary, new connections will be established with other devices.
Multi-hop - When there is no direct Internet connection, devices will access the Internet through chains of other devices. Again, if necessary, network chains will grow to reach the Internet connection
Save on mobile data- Share connectivity with mobile devices via Bluetooth (BT, BTLE) and Wi-Fi, NFC
Sophisticated technologies - device discovery, seamless pairing, distributed algorithms for managing the network, advanced traffic management (multi-hop, real-time automatic path choice, and channel bonding), and battery use reduction and optimization.
A 100% software solution, based on Wi-Fi community-based connection sharing software application that shares internet access with other devices using Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. When users have no direct Internet connection available, the application automatically connects to the Internet through links to other devices (such as mobile phones and Smart android-based sensors). When the mobile whose Internet connection (SW access point, SW gateway) leaves the network, the application automatically detects and connects to the next best available connection by introducing a way to access the Internet over multiple channels at one time, improving speed and reliability.
Such a network is self-healing and self-forming where each of the nodes operates only with local knowledge and together they build a network using a probabilistic distributed algorithm. It requires no operational expenses and minimal capital expenses from mobile operators, compared to alternatives such as femtocells and microcells.
